I am white and I think imagery from the Civil War is offensive. In addition to slavery, more than half a million people died in that war, it was a treasonous war against the United States of America. Those aspects are rarely mentioned
anything that is offensive to black people must be removed..
Then what do we re-name the owner of Kentucky Fried Chicken, (KFC), "Colonel Sanders"?
Almost anyone can say anything offends them so where does it stop?
Well, except when white people say it.....
Idiocy.............

KFC, is the new name...and to your point, lets remove Uncle Ben, and Aunt Jemina from the boxes as well!
The uncle and aunt are not what they were graphically in the 1950s. So in fact they have been removed. Times change, tastes change and people change. One interesting thing I read was that the old mascot was not a big seller. My guess is that if it was a big money maker, it would still be around. In short folks already voted the old mascot out.
