Is Hockey Racist? Ask Joel Ward

Joel Ward is a professional hockey player for the Washington Capitals, who happens to be Canadian, like most professional players, but also black. Ward scored the winning goal against the Boston Bruins the other night, sending his team to the Stanley Cup quarter finals. So what if some of the Boston fans used Twitter to show their sour grapes at losing. Those fans hurt no one, but their own sorry asses, by throwing the n-word around at Ward, because the Bruins lost at the hands of a black player. Hockey is a great sport, but it attracts more than its share of neanderthals, so no big whup. Next.

The above poster is arguing what I was about to.

I assume that since the Black hockey player made it through this (and likely other) seasons without the expression of ignorance by an ignorant fan - we must conclude that while there is no doubt that the Black hockey player is an exception - the expression of this type of ignorance against the guy's race needs to be taken on an individual case basis.

It’s amazing how many whites are so damn willing to justify racism when blacks are the victims by putting their own spin on the issue to the point rendering it as harmless fun. But if, and when blacks speak out against it they show their true colors by wearing white hoods and robes. Just watch Fox news.

I see you must be mad that blacks gained the right to vote. Especially after the effort and bloodshed you and your terroist pals made to stop it.

You're really not very perceptive, are you?

And you are?

You accused me of being mad that "blacks" gained the right to vote. You accused me of having "terrorist pals" and "putting effort and bloodshed into stopping blacks from voting." This,to me, is "hate speech." You can't even have an honest conversation and listen to someone else's very real perspective. Just as legitimate and real as your own.

You are the one who is upset about about black civil rights and civil right leaders. Only worthless low self esteem losers feel this way because the thought of black people having same rights as you is horrifying and obscene. Enough said..

And to YOU it is horrifying and obscene when white people speak the TRUTH about what they see. You need to call them "ray-cist" and "terrorist" and "low self-esteem losers" and accuse them of bloodshed. You need to use ad hominems with me, name-calling and accusations, because I speak the truth that you don't want to hear. I didn't even argue your post! I just posted another side to it. Like I said, not very perceptive, you.
