Cyclist and Friend, Tim Bucher, Killed By Distracted Driver

When I ride my bike this weekend it will be with a heavy heart. A cycling, bike mechanic and musician-friend was killed on his bike a few days ago. I liked Tim (youthfully drawn) and appreciated the concern and expertise he put into my bike. We will all miss him. I hope the person who caused his death realizes that not only did she recklessly extinguished another human being, but also a good guy who was cared for and loved by many. RIP Tim.

May he rest in Peace. Wow! so then the bike paths/sections of the road are not really effective? or there aren't enough in the right places?

We have a representative who was hit by a distracted driver a couple of months ago, he spent about a month in the hospital, so of course now he's put in a lot of legislation for bike paths and safety laws. I guess it's the same everywhere...

I'm sorry for your loss and the loss of those who loved him. It sounds like he left a good spirit behind when he departed. May we all do the same.

Hi James, wow, how did I not see this until now? I was Tim's wife of 24 years when he died in 2011. Thanks for your post! How did you know each other? I gather you went way back to have found that photo, thank you! Best wishes, Alicia (Bucher) Prael.
