I'm not clear on how do they know if the deceased has "accepted" The teachings or "rejected" them?
No one knows. People who are particllary spiritual can sometitmes sense when a dead relative has accepted but such a perception is more of a feeling or sense. Otherwise, it is not important for us to know. The ordinance is an offering only and makes no demands on the deceased person at all.
Thanks. Religious issues are so complex. So then this would be more for the living to feel that their family or friend is in the Grace of God type of thing...
