Tracy Morgan's Homophobic Tirade

Comedian/Actor Tracy Morgan did not accidentally say a bad word about gays. He did a Michael Richards-style implosion, and deserves to go back to square one in his career and prove that he is worth anybody paying to see his ignorant behind. Read what he said here. Apology rejected!

There is something about Tracy that I never quite liked. He always seemed to be hiding something.I also never found him funny.

Joke-telling is about risk-taking, and there simply aren't that many taboos left that are strong enough to create the unease that is the lifeblood of good comedy.

Race can be taboo, but Chris Rock, Richard Pryor, and Eddie Murphy et al. have worked racial differences to death.

Religion can be taboo as well, but in an increasingly secular public space, people simply don't want to hear it: people want a different brand of edgy.

Class could work, but Americans aren't as class-conscious as Brits, so the appeal is limited.

What's left is sex, and mocking homosexuality is the only facet of sex-talk that hasn't been done to death recently.

I find Tracy Jordan hilarious, and if I'd have been at this show, I would have laughed at this. I don't want gays to die, but I do find their status as a sainted minority a bit rich, and that's the sort of thing that's ripe for ridicule.

My thoughts are that there are a thousnad and one jokes that could have been done about the subject without resorting to such hostile, angry ones!

His hostile phrases including the "killing his child" comment are not what I would call "funny" in any way shape or form. On the contrary they seem quite scary! Did you laugh out loud at this?

I think he doth protest too much. Know what I mean ;)
