Former UCLA emeritus basketball Coach John Wooden was known for winning championships, but for me his greatest accomplishment was his willingness, early in his career and before UCLA, to refuse invitationals that barred Black players and to hold his ground until those tournaments relented. I heard he was a good Christian man who wrote love letters to his wife after she died. I think 100 years is long enough though. (english is funny enough and though look similar but sound different)
